The Abyss
Through timeless depths he did descend
And then he rose up once again
Strength of heart and strength of soul
Were all the stranger came to know
He stood his ground, alone at last
Memories of darkness past
He has descended once again
To where he was when he began
How he fell there, he can't say
This time, though, the man won't stay
Fear and pain of thought and mind
All of which he left behind
He may have stumbled, may have fell
But who was there to hear him yell
The pain he suffers deep inside
Was that which he once tried to hide
At long last, the pain was free
That which dwelled inside of me
For those he loves, for those he'll miss
Have no fear of the abyss
Escape is needed from the mind
Escape from those he left behind
He once was lost, but found his way
He strayed the path again today
But who will notice, who will care?
When reality slides, the abyss is there
What he sees he knows too well
What there exists he shall not tell
Visions warped, a mind he lost
A soul he'll find at any cost
An emptiness, a void within
What lies behind that quiet grin?
An endless depth beyond his eyes
None shall hear his desperate cries
The pit, though endless, is not deep
Until he's freed, he'll always weep
He prays they seek, he hopes they'll find
The essence of his soul and mind
Few have sought, they lost all hope
Through darkest caves they would not grope
Cautiosly, beyond the meek
He has not found that which he seeks
From the night, he will be free
The light will shine inside of me
With who's help beyond my own
Through exploration, I have grown
I have sought, soon I will find
The spirit of my soul and mind...
