Innocence Lost

Late at night she lies upon her bed
She stares at a celing which can hardly be seen
Through the darkness
Who or what concerns her
Is anybody's guess
.
A boy who has just left an unknown destination
Far from civilization
Speeds through the pouring rain
Music turned down as the whir of the
Windshield wipers
Penetrates
Headlights glisten as they reflect off of the falling rain
He does not know how or when or why
Or who
Who is he, himself?
Answers, once right, never farthur from the truth
.
Innocent Lost
