Signed in blood upon a stone
Intertwined with flesh and bone
Until the day it changes tone
And in this world we are alone
Carved into the bark of trees
Covered with the sprouting leaves
Sifting through our minds like sieves
And when they'er gone, nobody grieves
Written on a paper trail
Kept along til old and stale
In our minds they have set sail
And from the mouth there's not a wail
Time it took and it shall take
And then one day we'll sleep, we'll wake
A memory of loss we'll shake
And in our hearts, ammends we'll make
